#Thing No 10 Online Image Generators

This is my name in Egyptian Hieroglyphs.

A friend of mine once used Hieroglyphic nametags for a training course she was presenting.(The real names were on the back). It is good for novelty value.

A lot of the Online Image Generators could be used to create some fun in a training course or in publishing. There were many more software applications than I was aware of.

#Things 8 & 9 RSS & Newsreaders

I loved being able to set up a bloglines account. The convenience of having updates notified at the Bloglines page appeals to me. I found newsfeeds from ALIA and professional organisations to be of most interest. (eg.Seeing what library jobs are being advertised). I continue to be interested in what libraries in the UK and USA are doing with digital libraries. Of most application to my current workrole are collection development policies and also newsfeeds that make the acquisitions process more streamlined.(eg publishers feeds) I found Google blogsearch brought up some blogs and led me to sites of interest, more so than Technorati etc.

#5 Flickr

This is a picture of Jessie...inspiration for my blog name.
The picture was taken by my 5 year old daughter, which goes to show that it takes a young person to really know how to work new technologies.

I created an account in Flickr to load this picture. I previously had fun exploring flickr when I saw the blog of a Japanese American mum who takes a daily mobile phone picture of her kids packed lunches (or Bento Boxes). On the blog are inspiring pictures of various sushi etc. There is also a thriving 'Bento Box' community with photos on Flickr.
